Several Good Eyecare staff members joined Dr. Pok at the Summer Games at the University of Delaware again this June. By donating used eyewear in our Lions Club collection box, our patients share in providing this valuable service to our athletes. Opening Eyes provides free eye assessments, prescription eyewear, sunglasses and sports goggles to Special Olympics athletes.
The Special Olympics-Lions Clubs International Opening Eyes program is a vision and eye health screening in partnership with the Lions Clubs International Foundation. Led by volunteer vision care professionals, Opening Eyes is able to offer prescription eyewear, sunglasses, and sports goggles to people with intellectual disabilities.
Good Eyecare is proud to be affiliated with Opening Eyes, part of the Special Olympics Health Athletes Program, whose mission is to improve, through better health and fitness, each athlete’s ability to train and compete in Special Olympics.
